MTS says to rebrand fully, to start with digital products

MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MTS will rebrand fully with the first step being changes in the design of digital products and websites, while signs and stores will change gradually within several years as old facilities wear out, the company said on Thursday in a statement.

The company will replace an egg on the logo, used since 2006, with a red square with letters M, T, and S.

President Vyacheslav Nikolayev said the rebranding has become a logical continuation of overwhelming changes in business.

“In the new architecture, MTS’ brand has transformed from monolithic to hybrid. A system of branding with multiple visual styles inside was designed – sub-brands for large business directions and products were created with their own bright identity and a recognizable style, but with a noticeable succession from the parent brand,” Nikolayev said.

The company will keep the red colour and add various shades.

MTS’ logo will now be dynamic and flexible and will become the basis for the brand’s visual system, and its left-hand corner will be empty for the names of services.
